TEAM INSTRUCTIONS

Course (1.2k = .75 miles)

The 1.2k begins at 9:12 am. It starts and ends in the ball fields at Gilbert’s Freestone District Park with an out and back route through the park and along a short section of  Western Powerline Trail. It’s mainly a flat, packed gravel trail with no street crossings.

Registration

Bring the family or your co-workers and register a team in the 1.2k Santa “Sled” run/walk. You don’t need a sled, but we invite you to have some fun with this! Enter a team with a theme. Decorate the stroller, bring a wagon, dress up the pets. There will be gifts for the team and individuals with the most Christmas Spirit, Santa Paws’ Favorite Pet and the Best Decorated Entry.

Teams are invited to pre-register on-line or using the mail in form. Additional team members may be registered on an additional form. Late registration is available on-site and at advance packet pickup.

Advance Packet Pickup

Race numbers and registration packets will be available on Thursday December 12 at Roadrunner Sports in Tempe from 3 pm to 8 pm. (Yes, you can pick up packets for other runners. Just bring all their information.)  Packet pickup will also be available the morning of the event between 7:30 and 9:30 am.

Run/Walk Information

The 1.2k will begin at 9:12, early enough that you can participate with the kids then run in the 6k or 12k event as well. Pets are welcome, as are wagons, strollers, and other decorated entries. We just ask that you let any 1.2k runners move to the front of the starting line. After you finish, drop by Santa’s Food Court for beverages and snacks from Albertsons.

Awards

Judges awards for the Most Christmas Spirit (Family and Youth), Santa Paw’s Favorite Pet and Best Decorated Entry. The Judges Parade presented by Printing Specialists between 8:30 and 10, and prize winners will be able to pick up their gifts from under the Christmas tree any time after the race. A list of winners will be posted.
