The 1.2k (1.2k = .75 miles) The 1.2k begins at 9:12 am. It starts and ends on the grass at Gilbert’s Freestone District Park with an out and back route through the park behind the ball fields, turning around at the Powerline Trail. Safe, nowhere near any road, and lots of folks out there to cheer you on and make sure you turn around!
Our friends from Target will be at the finish line with a candy cane for all the kids!
Bring the family or your co-workers and register a team in the 1.2k Santa “Sled” run/walk. You don’t need a sled, but we invite you to have some fun with this! Enter a team with a theme. Decorate the stroller, bring a wagon, dress up the pets. There will be gifts for the team and individuals with the most Christmas Spirit, Santa Paws’ Favorite Pet and the Best Decorated Entry.
Pre-register on-line or using the mail in form. Registration is available on-site and at advance packet pickup.
Race numbers and registration packets will be available at early packet pickup on Friday December 13 from 3 pm to 7 pm at the EVENT SITE in the parking lot between the basketball court and the baseball fields at Gilbert Freestone Park. (Yes, you can pick up packets for other runners. Just bring all their information.) Packet pickup will be available the morning of the event between 7 and 9:30 am.
The 1.2k will begin at 9:12, early enough that you can participate with the kids then run in the 6k or 12k event as well. (Note: if you are not registered for the 6k or 12k, and you want to run with a child in the 1.2k, you will need to sign yourself up as well.)
Pets are welcome, as are wagons, strollers, and other decorated entries. We just ask that you let those fast kids move to the front of the starting line.
Gifts from Santa
Santa has wrapped gifts under the Christmas tree for the Most Christmas Spirit (Family and Youth), Santa Paw’s Favorite Pet and Best Decorated Entry.
Our judges from National Charity League San Tan will be roving around the festival looking for prize winners. If they give you a prize token, drop by and pick up your gifts at the prize tent near the permanent restrooms.
All participant entries are non-transferable and there are no refunds. You may not transfer or sell your race number to another person. We do not offer a deferral to next year event or another event in the series. There are no exceptions to this policy unless approved by race organizer.
